Over 40 million Americans go camping every year.
Would you like to have a secret weapon up your sleeve to make your camping trip even better? Something that most of those campers wish they had?
You already know what it is: your essential oils. There’s a ton of great uses for essential oils while camping, but most people leave them at home either because they aren’t aware of how versatile they can be while on the road or out in the woods, or—and this is the big one—they’re worried about breaking or losing them.
Today we’re going to look at some solutions to that problem and give you a few fantastic uses for essential oils while camping. We’ll discuss:
- How you can take your essential oils with you safely
- Where to find must-have summertime camping essential oil recipes
- How to diffuse in your car or RV
- An extra-strong bathroom spray (presumably for said RV)
- Nighttime camping diffuser recipes
Let’s get started:
How to Safely Transport Your Essential Oils While Camping
…Or while going just about anywhere else!
Have you ever considered bringing your essential oils camping or on any other trip, but decided to leave them at home just in case they broke?
This is probably the number one reason essential oil fans “go without,” because after all, who wants to deal with broken essential oil bottles? You’d end up wasting probably more than a few bucks worth of essential oil (as they say, the stuff ain’t cheap), and good luck getting the smell of rosemary out of your backpack during this lifetime.
The solution is to have a strong, durable storage case. If you want access to your entire collection no matter where you are, a great combo is one of our large-capacity wooden essential oil storage boxes held snugly within our recommended canvas carry bag.
Alternatively, you can travel light and only bring along your essential essential oils (sorry, we had to) with this 16-bottle capacity carrying case. It’s durable and thick with a foam padding, keeping your investments safe.
Quick tip: whether you’re taking your essential oils camping or transporting them for any other reason, always, always double check that all of the bottle caps are screwed on tightly. It doesn’t matter how durable your carrying case is if a loose cap is floating around in the bag!
Now that you know how to take along your essential oils on your next camping trip, let’s take a look at some useful-as-heck recipes.

On the Road? Check Out These Small Mobile Diffusers For Your Truck, Car or RV
Did you know that diffusing peppermint essential oil in your vehicle can reduce stress and help keep you alert on long drives?
The only problem with traditional diffusers is that the moisture they generate can be damaging to the electric components of your vehicle, not to mention an active diffuser could be potentially distracting. Both not good!
The solution is a waterless car vent essential oil diffuser. These handy-dandy little diffusers attach directly to the vents in your vehicle, so all you have to do is turn on the fan and they’ll do the rest. They’re surprisingly effective too—a single drop on the diffuser will last a good portion of the day. If you have a larger vehicle such as an RV, attach 2-3 car vent diffusers on the vents throughout the vehicle so that everyone can benefit.
Extra Strong All Natural Essential Oil RV Bathroom Spray
If you’ve ever been in an RV with your entire family you know exactly why we’re including this recipe. ‘Nuff said.

- 40 drops peppermint essential oil (may substitute with bergamot if preferred)
- 40 drops grapefruit essential oil
- 4 oz witch hazel
Place ingredients into a glass spray bottle, mix well and use whenever necessary. Trust us, it’ll be necessary. 1-2 spritzes should be more than enough to clear away any unpleasant odors.
