Topical application is perfect for this gentle essential oil: put a few drops on the back of your neck, rub them in, and apply a warm compress.
Peppermint & Eucalyptus Oil, The Sinus Cleansing Superstars
Peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils are both fantastic ways to boost the function of your respiratory system. A household favorite for us, these oils not only support your immune system, they smell lovely.
If you’re already feeling under the weather, either of these oils will help you breathe easier. They’re perfect for diffusion, but you can also use them topically. If you dilute them with a carrier oil such as jojoba oil, you can even make a quick decongestant rub which you can apply directly to your chest.
What’s the Best Way to Use These Essential Oils?
While it’s possible to simply inhale directly from the bottle, it’s not the most effective or graceful way to put your essential oils to work. In a pinch, topical application of skin-safe essential oils (like chamomile mentioned above, for example) will also work. Gently rub a drop or two in behind your neck and near your temples.
