Happy holidays my fellow essential oil enthusiasts!
In today’s post I’m going to be bringing you a bunch of great info, with the highlight of the day being how to make your very own DIY Christmas Spirit essential oil blend. You’re also going to learn:
- One of my favorite holiday themed diffuser recipes
- The perfect gifts for last minute shoppers
- How essential oils can help you beat your sugar cravings over the holidays
- What to do if you’re going out of town this year
Remember, the holiday season should be fun, not stressful. Always try to keep that in mind (even when your in-laws are banging down your door in a few weeks!).
Let’s get started with a super popular diffuser blend:
DIY “Christmas Spirit” Essential Oil Blend for Your Diffuser
Christmas Spirit essential oil is a popular blend this time of year. It’s absolutely amazing in your diffuser to set the mood for the holidays—everyone will love it.
The best part? It’s super easy to blend yourself.
If you want to make a nice big batch of it, use one of your spare 5ml essential oil bottles and blend the following oils inside it:
- 60 drops orange essential oil (sweet or wild orange will work wonderfully)
- 20 drops spruce essential oil
- 20 drops cinnamon bark essential oil
The above recipe is perfect for your diffuser in any room of the house. If you want to get creative, you can modify the recipe to be used as a room freshening spray. Get a 4oz glass spray bottle and add a dash of vodka or witch hazel along with 2oz of water.
One of My Other Favorite Holiday Themed Diffuser Recipes
I use my diffuser year round, but the holiday season really gets me excited. It presents the perfect opportunity to fill your home with some of the most wonderful aromas. I’m a huge fan of the Christmas Spirit blend above, but one of my other all-time favorites is a blend that encapsulates some of the “classic” Christmas aromas. Maybe that’s what I should call it—The Classic Christmas Blend.
Here’s what I use, in smaller portions than the last recipe so you can test it out for yourself:
- 3 drops cinnamon bark essential oil
- 3 drops wild orange essential oil
- 2 drops clove essential oil
- 2 drops nutmeg essential oil
When you give yourself the gift of organization, it makes experimenting with your essential oils easy and fun. What are your favorite holiday themed diffuser blends? Let me know in the comments below or drop us a line on Facebook.

Beat Your Sugar Cravings This Year
It happens every year—you say you’re not going to overdo it on the holiday pastries, and then it happens: you totally pig out on cookies, cakes, and sweets. At least that’s how it used to work out for me. Until, of course, I started putting my essential oils to work.
About a year ago I wrote a post about how to beat your sugar cravings with essential oils. If you’re new to the blog, I highly recommend going back and reading it. Here’s the basics of what I put down:
- Grapefruit, dill, peppermint, and cinnamon bark essential oils are the most effective at combating sugar cravings.
- Diffuse these oils as much as possible, either with a regular diffuser, a wearable diffuser, or a car diffuser.
- Use these roller bottle recipes.
These suggestions are pure awesome if you’re trying to avoid going overboard on the sweets this year. I plan on using them personally, because yes, essential oils really can help with sugar cravings. Don’t knock it until you try it!

Happy Holidays from Everyone at Aroma Outfitters!
Sometimes our family is so busy that it’s easy to caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life. This holiday season I’m making a point of slowing down (at least a little bit!) to pause and reflect on some of the things I’m most grateful for in life.
One of the things I’m inexpressibly grateful for is the success of Aroma Outfitters. I’ve had the privilege of sharing great products with even greater people—I’ve made friendships that I’m sure will last a lifetime.
So, having said that, please accept my warmest holiday wishes and, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything.
