Your 2019 Essential Oil Goal Planner

Your 2019 Essential Oil Goal Planner

Happy new year, essential oil fans!

I’ve been doing some thinking about new years resolutions and how we use our oils in the Aroma Outfitters household. As a family business that sells pretty dang awesome essential oil accessories, you’d think that we all must be experts at using our oils, right? Nothing left to discover or do because we’ve got our oil uses perfectly dialed-in?

While I’ve definitely become knowledgeable about essential oils and now use them in my daily life for all sorts of things like doing laundry or just relaxing, the notion that there’s nothing left to learn is just plain silly.

When you’re talking about essential oils, there’s always something new to learn. After all, new studies about how essential oils can improve your life and the lives of your loved ones come out what seems like every single day.

The new year brings new opportunities to learn, experiment, and improve. That’s why in today’s post I’d like to share with you what I think would be the most impactful essential oil focused new years resolutions.

Think of it as a 2019 essential oil goal planner (and if you’re reading this a few years down the road, I’d wager that these goals will still be just as relevant).

If you’d like to borrow it in whole or in part, you’re more than welcome to do so. Share it with your friends, your family, or your coworkers—whether they’re experts or novices just getting into the essential oil lifestyle.

This is our year to shine, folks!

Let’s begin with an easy one. Why is it easy? Because it’s so much fun!

Try at Least 10 New Essential Oil Recipes

Let’s be honest: trying out new essential oil recipes is one of the most fun ways to use your oils. You get to go into your “essential oil lab” and mix and match and create something utterly new and useful—so whether it’s been a while since you concocted a new recipe or you’re just getting started with oils, make a goal for yourself to try out at least 10 new essential oil recipes this year. That’s less than one per month, so it’s totally attainable.

And you know what’s probably going to happen?

You’ll want to try way more than just 10 new recipes, because there’s just so many awesome, health-boosting, energizing, and rejuvenating ways to use your oils.

If I’m not careful, I can spend an entire afternoon just browsing around at all of the awesome recipes and DIY projects I want to try out—in fact, I keep a little journal with these ideas and slowly work my way through it whenever I have extra time.

Let me help you get a little head start on your own list of recipes and DIY projects to try out this year. Check out these posts from the Aroma Outfitters blog and start taking some notes about new recipes AND new oils to try:

Get Your Essential Oils Organized – It’s so Much More Important Than You Think

I’ll let you in on a little secret about the wooden essential oil storage cases we sell at Aroma Outfitters.

You know how they look really nice when they’re opened up?

That’s completely on purpose, and it’s not just for the aesthetic appeal either… there’s a hidden functionality that most people don’t consider (but also helps to account for why our storage boxes are so popular).

Getting your essential oil collection organized isn’t just smart to do because it looks nice. It’s because when you have your oils out in the open where you can see them, you’re far, far more likely to use them.

Interestingly, getting into the habit of using essential oils instead of store bought items can be tough, even for experienced essential oil users. For example, we all know it’s better to use a lavender essential oil recipe to soothe head and neck tension instead of quickly popping an aspirin.

When your oils are neatly organized and displayed nicely, you’re going to reach for them instead of something else that might be harmful. And that’s really the whole goal here, right?

This logic is why none of our storage cases are designed like the ones you see where the oils are hidden and tucked away in drawers. Even our gorgeous 2-layer storage box (which does have a drawer) has been designed to look beautiful when it’s on display—as it should be, at least if you want to get the most out of your oil.

Replace Your Store-Bought, Chemical-Laden Cleaners With an Organic, Natural Alternative

One of the best—and easiest—things you can do for yourself and your family right now, today, is start systematically replacing store bought cleaners with organic, homemade alternatives.

Not only will you realize just how much money you’re wasting on the store bought stuff (trust me, it’s crazy how much it adds up), but you’ll be able to rest assured that you know each and every ingredient in the cleaners you’re using to wipe down your dining room table, kitchen counters, and bathrooms.

You can even use essential oils to create your own soaps, detergents, air fresheners, and more. And you know what? You’re not “sacrificing” anything either, in terms of quality—as many essential oil users can attest, in many cases your homemade cleaners will work better than the chemical concoctions you find at the store.

It’s a topic I’ve discussed pretty extensively here on the Aroma Outfitters blog, so I’ll go ahead and direct you to a few posts that contain recipes to start kicking out the chemicals and start using the all-natural stuff:

And, if you want to know why I’m so passionate about this topic, go ahead and read this “controversial” post (which I’ve found to be a great resource to send to anyone who doesn’t seem to “get” essential oils and why our community loves them so much).

Remember what we just discussed about having access to your oils meaning that you’ll be more likely to use them?

What about when you’re out of the house?

Essential oils are arguably more useful in those instances where you didn’t know you were going to need them—scraped knees and feelings of stress can crop up without us expecting them, after all—so if you haven’t picked one up yet, one of the best things you can do for yourself this year is to pick up an essential oil travel case.

If your oils are with you, you’re going to use them.

Pictured above is our absolutely awesome essential oil carry bag, which is ultra-durable, huge, and looks great. You can fit everything you need in it for a whole day out or even a weekend trip. If you’re looking for something smaller that you can slip into your purse or the glove box of your car, grab one of our super-affordable and practically indestructible rollerbottle essential oil travel cases.
